Year 10 Theatre Studies

The Year 10 Theatre Studies course provided students with opportunities to develop as confident, reflective and creative performing artists. Students will be introduced to the Theatre Studies program via a short unit on Melodrama, where they will explore acting skills, production roles and conventions of this theatre style. They will work in small groups to perform various melodrama scenarios. Students will then develop their skills in response to stimulus materials created for the Malthouse Theatre Suitcase Series program, in response to the issue of climate change. The students will work collaboratively to explore, interpret, write, devise and rehearse their scenes prior to presenting a performance of these works for an audience at Malthouse Theatre.
