In this study area you will be trained in the use of hand and power tools and common timber joinery methods. It is a two year program one full day per week. In this time students will make a box drum (cajon), a xylophone, a penny whistle (flageolet), electric slide guitar and shaping guitar necks. In the second year a series of stringed instruments are produced including an electric T style guitar, ukulele and an optional custom design traveller guitar. The pathways for this course are to the post-secondary Certificate IV in Musical Making and Repair at our college or to Furniture Making courses in the trades or university level
